Who we are

The Institute of Contemporary Technologies consists of researchers from the Department of Tehnical Education. They focus on research areas of technical sciences and design. The largest amount of work is done in the field of education and special didactics. They also pay special attention to special development knowledge.

The research areas of the institute include the development of teaching models, the fields of cognitive neuroscience and philosophy of mind, intelligent tutoring systems and smart learning environments, and the integration of technical sciences and their transfer to teaching. The institute strives to involve young researchers and doctoral students.

You are invited to watch the video of the 6th International Scientific Conference on Philosophy of Mind and Cognitive Modeling in Education (PCE2024). On April 18th and 19th, as part of the Innovative Pedagogy 5.0 project in Maribor, we collectively took steps into the future.

The organizers, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the University of Maribor, the Anton Martin Slomšek Institute, and the Department of Education and Study at the University of Maribor, hosted more than 70 participants in the scientific part and over 290 attendees in the professional segment.
